During the past few weeks, the Ava Police has received numerous reports from businesses of BB shots into their storefront windows. All damage is similar in nature and suspects are being sought. On one occasion on Aug. 12, a business owner was in the business and looked up to see a black Pontiac Sunfire traveling south on South Jefferson in front of his business. The passenger, a dark haired male subject, held a BB handgun out the window and shot the front glass of the business, leaving a BB hole in the window comparable to the other businesses with window damage. The witness ran outside to retrieve information pertaining to the vehicle and occupants, and observed the vehicle continue south on South Jefferson.
