MDC Discover Nature – Fishing In Ava, August 6

The Missouri Department of Conservation is hosting a Discover Nature and Fishing, for youths, Thursday, August 6, 6-8 p.m., at John Sutton’s pond, on Scott Street in Ava, Mo.  There is no fee for the program.

The event includes two lessons: Lesson 1 – Equipment, Casting and Proper Fish Handling; and Lesson 2 – How to Tie a Knot and Bait a Hook.  The session will consist of one hour of instruction covering lessons 1 and 2, followed by one hour of fishing.

Participants are limited to anglers ages 7–15, and families with children. Fishing equipment, instructors and bait are provided.

Adults must accompany their child at all times.
