Another week gone by! Not much improvement in the news here and around the world. Well, I guess catching up with that former policeman in California is good news. One of my sister’s neighbors was one of the targets out there so policemen were near her house in force to protect. When I was much, much younger I used to go to the Big Bear Lake area where they caught up with him and it is beautiful but rough country.
Received many phone calls and e-mails this past week from family and friends, and all wondering how I am doing. I’m still in limbo land as far as my platelets are concerned but my doctors are hopeful that my system will heal itself. The steroid they have me on has many side effects, one of which is lethargy of mind and body – just plain tired all the time – and these weekly trips to Springfield are exhausting. Just thinking of vacuuming and mopping that needs doing is tiring. Lately I am not a neat freak.
One son took me to an outstanding place for lunch in Springfield, the Hibachi Super Buffet up on Kearney. Definitely a place to go on occasion! Another son treated with lunch for Kim and me in Ava for Valentine’s Day. Another son picked up some tubing to replace the dryer vent under the house and that will be installed soon with grandson’s help. I hear that grandson Nick is managing to survive the outdoor work he does in North Dakota in the bitter weather there in the shale fields.
Some of my neighbors have been having upper respiratory problems and flu so I have stayed away. I’ve been going through hand sanitizer and Lysol spray. Sure wish all these “bugs” would just die out. They make people so miserable, some for weeks as they did me in November and December, and now the aftermath of those viruses.
When you think you have no chance of getting what you want, you probably won’t get it, but if you trust God to do what’s best, and wait on His time, sooner or later, you will get it or something better.
So, once again no local news and apparently some folk think I go on too much about government antics. So, I’ll close for this week. Be well! Pray for our neighbors, for our nation.
