Our menu for this week is: Monday, February 25—Biscuit, gravy, sausage, egg, hash brown, fruit. Tuesday, February 26—Spaghetti and meatballs, salad bar, garlic roll, cookie. Wednesday, February 27—Chicken salad sandwich, vegetable soup, fruit. Thursday, February 28—Meatloaf, baked potato, peas, roll, pudding. Friday, March 1—Fish sandwich, homemade soup, jell-o with fruit.
The Ava Senior Center will be host to a Jam Session on Monday nights beginning the month of March. The jam session will be for anyone who plays an instrument or sings. It will consist of country, bluegrass, and gospel music. It will begin at 6:00 p.m. and end at 9:00 p.m. No alcohol beverages or smoking will be allowed on the premises. If you play an instrument or sing or just love to listen to good music, you are invited to attend. One song each until everyone has played or sung, then the rotation will begin again.
The activities down at the Center include: Tuesday—OATS bus to adjoining county. Wednesday—OATS bus rural Ava to Ava. Thursday—Driver’s exam in the basement 9:30 to 3:30. Friday—OATS bus rural Ava to Ava.
Our pinochle tournament on February 13 resulted in these winners: Annabelle Walker (1213), Jan Nute (1061) and Rozalia Maisel (858). We had two tables and played five games and appreciate everyone who came and played. If you know how to play pinochle and want to join us, call and sign up and come back in on Wednesday, March 13. Our number is 683-5712.
Happy birthdays go out to Bill Harper and James Garrison on February 25; Evelyn Taylor on the 28th and our own Wanda Whitaker on the 28th. Is that old woman still in her fifties? Just asking. Evelyn Witchey is having a birthday on March 2, and Lowell Porter on March 3.
Bonnie appreciates the Ava Assembly of God Church volunteers who came and helped unload the truck and stack boxes.
