Over the past two weeks, Ava FFA has competed in Area Proficiencies and Degree Selection.
Results from Area Proficiencies are Ciara Bray, 1st place in Equine Placement, which advances to State, and James Elijah, 1st place in Dairy Placement, also advancing to State.
In Proficiencies, only 1st place advances on to State and competes for the State winner. All Area winners are recognized on stage at State with a plaque.
At area banquet, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd will be recognized.
State Convention is April 18 and 19 in Columbia.
Other proficiency winners were James Elijah – 1st in Beef Entrepreneurship, however he can only compete at state in one area; Taylor McDonald – 2nd in Outdoor Recreation; James Elijah – 2nd in Diversified Livestock Placement/Entrepreneurship; Becca Neal – 3rd in Poultry Production; and Ciara Bray – 3rd in Equine Entrepreneurship.
Proficiencies are based on their SAE or Supervised Agriculture Experience program which recognizes outstanding achievement in a specific area.
Receiving their Area FFA Degrees will be Ciara Bray, Esther Johnson, Cheyenne Lafferty, Deevala Rawlings, Victor Wood, Brittney Dixon, Brittanie Newell, and Kayla Tanner. They will be awarded at Area Banquet on April 15 which is held at College of the Ozarks.
Applying for their State FFA Degrees were Ashton Davis, Hannah Phinney, Taylor McDonald, Katie Hicks, Ciara Bray, Kendra Schuster, and Becca Neal. They will find out if they receive this honor after state screening and selection on March 1.
