What a beautiful January day yesterday was, hope everyone got out to enjoy the fresh air.
Our brother, Pete Jenkins from Fayetteville, Arkansas came up Tuesday. He took Norma and I to the Ava Drug for lunch. He hardly ever passes up the opportunity to get a couple dips of ice cream at the Ava Drug when he is in town.
DeAnn Thompson and I was in West Plains, Thursday on a business trip.
Plainview 5th and 6th grades won the Taneyville tournament last week. Kyle my fourth grader got to play some, but I didn’t get to go to the game. They are playing a couple times this week.
Norma, Kenny and Seth Hunt was visiting the nursing home Saturday. Norma said Peggy was in her wheelchair in the hall when they got there. She hasn’t been able to do that for a while, so she is feeling better.
Saturday was my birthday, I got many calls and cards, wishing me happy birthday. In the afternoon, Kelly DeAnn, Kinsey, Kailey and Kyle Thompson took me to the True Brew in Ava for lunch. That evening Kinsey had friends over to play a game at our house. She lives with me now. Mark Davis, Kyle Hampton, Katie Jenkins and Kailey Thompson were here. I enjoy having young people around.
Sunday was a big day at Goodhope General Baptist Church. Jerry Waggoner and his group, I think they call themselves the country boys. They played and sang several old-time gospel songs. I didn’t catch their names. There was Jerry and four guys and a lady. If you are ready to hear some old-time gospel music along with encouragement from God’s word, you are in for a treat with this group. I’m sure they would be available to come to your church. We had 94 in attendance Sunday morning.
Sunday evening Pastor David Welsh used scripture from I Thess. 5:14-23.

Tom and Sue Brown have had several visitors this past week since Tom came home from hospital. Bro. Bob Huskey brought them some perch – yummy, yummy!
Ervin and Lodean Schultz have really been sick this week with the flu-bug.
Rodney, Lisa and Kayli Brown came out Sunday afternoon and hung some pictures for Sue. They all had dinner and then Lisa, Kayli, Sue and Dianne went for an afternoon walk.
