Hello from our home to your home, we stay busy guessing the weather and what our high temp will be, several residents are always in the gardening mode. It’s time to start thinking about planting the flowers, tomatoes and our other vegetables. Tomatoes are the most important, everyone loves the tomatoes. This spring we will be finishing up the arbor area around on the back side of our building. This is going to be a place where residents can go and be outside. Tonya has some great ideas for our area.
Friday morning the 1st Sonshine Singers were here and they are wonderful, but my hat is off to Sharon Stewart, who goes around and invites everyone down to the singing. She even gives rides which are very much appreciated. Tonya helped Connie put up the big calander for February. Tonya did a wonderful job. Carrie McIntosh called games and Danny Ousley won the prize.
Saturday morning Norma Stilling played the piano, followed by Saturday Church with Bro. Tom Hawkins, who reported that he was just now starting to fell better.
Games were played in the afternoon, and the girls have got their puzzle put together with no mishaps this time. It was a 1000 piece puzzle of a church, bridge and fall trees, they were so proud of getting the puzzle put together.
Larry Moore taught Sunday School, everyone likes to get together and fellowship. In the afternoon Ava United Methodist Church was here for church services. It was also Super Bowl Sunday with some of the residents watching the game.
Mrs. Evelyn Harper who volunteers with Hospice Compassus is known as the candy lady. She calls on Tuesday afternoon. Jayma Potter and Warren Gunter with Three Rivers Hospice are also great volunteers in the game department. Whitney Pollard a worker from Three River Hospice does fingernails on Tuesday afternoon and we have both men and women who like to get their nails done.
Tuesday morning we put in the movie “Turner and Hooch” and popped popcorn to go with the movie. We were laughing so much at this Tom Hanks movie, which is a oldie but a goodie according to Danny Ousley.
Wednesday we enjoyed a good morning exercise, we played the “Beach Boys” and everyone was rocking.
Thursday morning Mrs. Ruth Evans visited with several residents, some of the residents always have something that they would like Mrs. Ruth to do for them, and she does it with gladness in her heart. The Craft Club made get well cards for Danny ( Tonya’s husband).
Our prayers and sympathy go out to the family of Mrs. Golda Anderson. Her funeral will be Friday.
We would like to welcome Ron Mallory, Wanda Agee and Bertha Matthijetz to our home. Congratulations to Johna McFarland on getting to go home this week.
