Sunday, February 3, 2013. It is good to come into the house of the Lord.
Special prayer was asked for Bevy’s grandma and grandpa, Eunice Evans, Linda R.’s family, a special friend who stands in need of prayer, little James asked prayer for his friend in school who was sick. God bless the children and grandchildren, whose family teaches them about prayer.
The morning message started out in Acts 23:1 – Paul before the council and Felix. Are we complacent about our living for God? The dictionary defines complacent, a feeling of quiet pleasure or security often unaware of some potential danger, defect or the like.
Paul told the council, “men and brethren I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day.
We need to be aware of at all times, the danger around us. The devil never sleeps.
I Timothy 1:19 tells us holding faith and a good conscience which some having put away, concerning faith have made shipwreck.
Are you heading for a ship wreck would you knw if you were? I want my plans, not God’s plan – shipwreck.
I know what’s best in my life – shipwreck.
Ask God “What do you want me to do.”
The evening message was very thought provoking.
Luke 24:13, after the resurrection, two of them were on the road to Emmaus, which in my book said, is about an eighth of a mile from Jerusalem. They were walking, talking about the things that had just happened, Jesus joined them and they did not know him.
What this passage said to me was on our daily walk, be it Hwy. 60, 14 or I40, if we met Jesus would we recognize him? His people who walked with him didn’t. “As He blessed and broke the bread; their eyes were opened. Lord open our eyes.”
