At last week’s meeting, we were happy to see Mr. Williams and January citizens of the month, Joe Herrell and Casey Ritchie as well as Casey’s parents, Jan and Betsy. Casey was even so kind as to play us a few songs on her fiddle.
Among the items on the agenda, members approved Elaine Sorenson’s membership for application, which has been sent to headquarters in Indiana. We are always happy to get new members allowing “more hands for more service.”
On that note: Kiwanis Club of Ava now offers a “corporate” membership. A business pays the fee, which is the same as for an individual member. Then any employee of that business can represent them at meetings, service projects and fundraisers. If you would like to be involved in helping children right here in our community, please contact Donna Dixon at 683-1918 for more information.
On Monday, Feb. 4, Terrific Kids will be recognized at Ava Elementary at 2:30 p.m.
At our meeting this week, members will wear red in recognition of February being Heart Month.
Here is a way to share your heart! At our meeting on Feb. 14 at 6 p.m., Suzanne Cooney will present a program about Child Abuse Awareness. Please come and join us at Krazy Daze and learn how you can help in the prevention efforts!
We are always looking for programs that would be of interest to our members and the general public. If you have one you would like to present, please call Donna Dixon at
683-1918 to schedule. For all other questions, contact Glenda Little at (417) 844-0408 or visit our Facebook page by typing “Ava Kiwanis” in the search box.
