Several members gathered at Krazy Daze last Thursday at noon for the regular weekly meeting. We are going to be checking into some fundraising opportunities as we continue service to the community. We also approved a February calendar and a list of scheduled yearly events for the Chamber to include in the community guide.
Today, Jan. 21, Kiwanis International celebrates 98 years of service! On Sept. 15, 2013, Kiwanis Club of Ava will celebrate 25 years of service to this community. We are hoping to have an event to mark the occasion.
Because there have been no snow days, both Skyline and Plainview are out of school today, so their Terrific Kids Assemblies have been rescheduled for next Monday, Jan. 28. We will be at Skyline at 10 a.m. and Plainview at 2 p.m.
This week, we look forward to seeing David Williams and January “Citizens of the Month.”
Kiwanis Club of Ava now offers a “corporate” membership. A business pays the fee, which is the same as for an individual member. Then any employee of that business can represent them at meetings, service projects and fundraisers. If you would like to be involved in helping children right here in our community, please contact Donna Dixon at 683-1918 for more information.
We are always looking for programs that would be of interest to our members and the general public. If you have one you would like to present, please call Donna Dixon at 683-1918 to schedule. For all other questions, contact Glenda Little at (417) 844-0408 or visit our Facebook page by typing “Ava Kiwanis” in the search box.
