January 2 – What a great way to start the New Year. We gathered at Caney to study God’s word and praise Him. Bro. Jeff Shipley began service by taking prayer requests and praise reports. Sis. Ethel Metcalf led in prayer. Jeff read Isaiah 9:8-21. Man is so egotistical that he thinks he does not need God. False doctrine is taught and spoken from our government down to our churches. We all need to be awake. Judgment is being measured out to our nation in attacks and diverse storms. God is trying to get our attention. A good lesson and discussion was enjoyed by all.
Sunday school opened with congregational singing. Bro. Jack Essary began service by taking prayer requests and praise reports. Sis. Lorrinda Coulter led in prayer. Jack read Psalms 119:169-176 for our devotion.
After a good Sunday school lesson Happy Birthday was sung to Ramanda Todd. God bless her.
Praise and Worship hour began with testimonies from Jeff Shipley, Jim Lafferty, Janice Lafferty and Jerry Loveland.
We began with congregational singing. Singing special music today was Ethel Metcalf, Maddie Shipley, Tracy Shipley, Melissa Harmon and Melba Austin. Pastor Bill Austin brought the morning message from John 1:44-46. Lets tell the world how great Jesus is. Lets tell them come and see, lets be excited that we have found Him.
We were blessed with visitors today. We hope they will come be a part of us each Sunday. We came together Sunday evening to praise the Lord. Bro. Jeff Shipley began service by taking praise reports and prayer requests. Sis. Melba Austin led in prayr. Testimonies were given from Bill Austin, Janice Lafferty, Lila Roberts and Jim Lafferty. Singing this evening was Ethel Metcalf. Bro. Jack Essary was our speaker Sunday evening. He brought his message from James 4:13-15 and Revelations 1:8. We need to be ready to meet the Lord. We have just a short time to live even at the longest. No one knows when God will call us home. He doesn’t change. To make Heaven, you have to do as He says. It was a God sent message that we need to take to a lost and dying world. Sister Melba sang to close the service. Come worship with us at Caney. You are always welcome.
