Betty Ivy, 92, Springfield, departed from this life on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, in her home.
Betty, the daughter of Frank Hudson and Myrtle Hudson-Tarbutton, was born on Sept. 10, 1920, in Grovespring, Mo., in Wright County. Bervil and Betty had been married almost 60 years until his death in 2005. In 1954, Bervil and Betty founded and operated American Business Systems until 1982, when they sold the business.
Betty loved to play golf, fish, and spend time with family and friends. She was a long standing member of the Twin Oaks Country Club. They spent many of their weekends at their lake house at Table Rock Lake and they loved to spend their winters in Sarasota, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bervil; a daughter, Brenda Ann; her parents, Frank Hudson and Myrtle Hudson-Tarbutton; and two brothers, Paul and Murl Hudson.
She is survived by sister-in-law, Farrell Ivy; a host of nieces and nephews; and many, many friends who will greatly miss her, including, Patricia Hartzler, a very special friend and caregiver, along with Duchess, her dog.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, in Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, 2001 W. Walnut Lawn Street, Springfield, Mo. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m., Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, in Steele Memorial Cemetery, Hartville, Mo.
