We have had some very nice days in the Ozarks, but a cool spell will approach soon. People are getting in the spirit of Christmas. Stores are full of people and shopping carts are mostly full. You would not think our economy is bad.
Garrison Church changed the Christmas to Sunday night, December 16th at 6:30 p.m. due to it being so close to Christmas Eve. It is better for some.
Our deacon, Gordan Jones, sure needs your prayers. He was better Monday when we visited him.
It was a beautiful day Sunday for the baptizing. The water was cold. Nikki’s family came from Harrison, Arkansas to see her baptized. Justin Bertoldie sang two specials and Lisa Ellison sang two songs. Justin use to be with Roy Clark, but is on the road with another group. He goes by Justin David. He married Abby Payne and they have two pretty little girls.
Garrison Church was blessed with 83 in attendance Sunday.
My cousin, Chole Wolford, called last week. She still needs prayer. And remember our sister-in-law, Lyn Halcomb, who will have major surgery December 18th. We have lots of sick folks.
Aunt Rhoda Thomas passed away Monday morning. My mom sure thought a lot of her and God bless Ronnie and Sue for all the love and care they gave her and also to Janice Ross. She helped with Rhoda and Amos several years.
A benefit was held for Judy (Ewing) Walker at Chadwick School Saturday night. A good crowd attended and the benefit did good. Preston and Louise Hampton have pretty Christmas lights and scene displays. If they can keep son-in-law, Jim Anderson, from shooting the deer. Ha! Sybil Harvill’s grandson, Keith Williams, has a pretty scene in his yard. Debbie and Mick Harvill have pretty lights, as well as, Shellie and Clint Marler family. What was so funny is that we saw Kim and Casey Ewing’s lights and James said you want to drive up by and see them. Casey and Garrett were putting them up. I got out and talked to Garrett, he was showing me his shoes and dog. I said we came by to your lights. Little Garrett said, “What do you think?” He talks like an adult. He is a very smart little boy. As we left he said, “Well, who was that?”
Christmas season is here. God gave us the best gift we will ever receive.
Ervin and Sandra Maggard and Valerie Austin visited Iona Maggard and ate Sunday dinner. Janie Morrison stopped by.
James visited Ervin recently. James and me visited Rex and Shirley Halcomb.
Have a good week. I think we are going to lose our nice weather. Throw another log on the fire and recline back and relax.
