Deer season will be over Tuesday, except for bow hunting. Hope everyone got their deer this year.
Dick and I were invited to the Thanksgiving dinner at Plainview Friday. We ate with Kyle Thompson and the fourth graders. Everything was very good. We had turkey and dressing and all the trimmings. Thn we drove on up to Mansfield to see Helen Dobbins, Dick’s sister. She had been in Mercy Hospital before moving into the nursing home in Mansfield.
Freeda Richards granddaughter, Jan, and her sons visited with Freeda Sunday after church.
Ron and Shelli Sanders brought Georgia Sanders up to spend a few days with relatives in the area. She will be here for Thanksgiving dinner at Norma Cross’ in the Jenkins building at Goodhope. Ron and Shelli and Georgia visited with Peggy Jenkins Sunday afternoon.
Worship service opened with a worship song. Missy Breshears sang a beautiful song for a special. The children did the penny march. Attendance on Sunday was 87. Bro. Bob Huskey preached in the absence of Pastor David Welsh. Scriptures used were Galatians 5:7, Philippians 3:10 and Philippians 4:8. The sermon was titled “Proper Focus” ” Keep your eyes on Jesus” “Win Souls.”
Sunday evening Bro. Bob Huskey sang. Bro. Bob’s message was “Don’t Believe Everything You Hear.” “What’s Truth.” From I John 4:1-8.
I John 5:7, “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God, and everyone that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.”
