It was an extremely blustery day, but we had a great day to worship. There were many prayer requests, still folks with health issues, those having medical tests and others still recovering.
It was Veteran’s Day and Brother Ric used several scriptures to speak about the lives that were given in foreign fields, and the life our Savior gave for us. He also spoke about how we should honor the flag.
We are especially proud of our two veterans, Brother Martin and Brother Don. We appreciate their service and all others that have or are serving. God Bless Them. Brother Martin took part in the ceremony at the Ava Cemetery,in honor of 11-11-11.
Some from the church attended the service at Cross Point Church Sunday evening for the ordination of Pastor Ric’s son, John. Brother Oren preached the ordination service and as usual did an excellent job. We congratulate all the Englehardt family.
Mae Cox visited with her family, Sylvia, and Golda, by phone this week.
Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Lansdown were in West Plains, Tuesday evening, staying with their grandchildren, while their parents were working.
Those visiting Martin and Mary Ann Hathcock this week were Jan Jones, Ronda Soto, Pat Smith, Lola Mayberry, and Liz with Jack and Jorie. Martin and Mary Ann were pleased to attend the wedding our their grand-daughter, Liz, to Steven Bledsoe, in the home of her grand-parents, Jack and Peggy Armstrong. Our congratulations to the newlyweds.
Visitors in the home of Bessie Hall this past week were LaQuita Dixon, Hellen Blakey, who joined Bessie for lunch after church Sunday, Shaun Elliott, James Elliott, J.C. Hall, Vicky Burnett, Jewell Elliott, Donna Nichols and Lauren Hall, Kim Clements and Kay Hutchison.
Those visiting with Tom and Jewell Elliott recently were Shaun and LeAnna Elliott, MaKayla and Logan, James Elliott, Jim and Carla Hearod.
Myrl Cox’s company the past several days has been, Jackie Davis and Wyatt, of Willard, Jeanne Cox and Garrett Richards, Pat Lansdown, Paul Cox, Norma Bogart and Jenna Davis.
Mr. and Mrs. Estel Honeycutt, Kansas City and Norma Evans, visited their cousin, Harold Hutchison, last Wednesday afternoon. They are the children of the late Howard and Addie Honeycutt, of Longrun. They all had a wonderful time reminiscing about their younger days and about their families, hope they get to come again, soon.
Amy Hutchison spent from Thursday until Sunday evening with her grandparents, Harold and Kay Hutchison. Morgan Clements spent Friday night with the group. Harlin and Shirley Hutchison of West Plains came and had lunch with his parents and returned Miss Amy to her home, Sunday afternoon.
Morgan Clements, Dylan Clements and Sarah Claussen, had supper with Harold and Kay Hutchison, Tuesday evening, then watched the football game.
