Norma Stillings visited residents at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center, Ava Place, and Rocky Ridge last week. She helped judge the Patriot Pen essays at the VFW, Friday morning. The Patriot Pen writers wrote on what they would tell the founding fathers if they had a chance to do so. The essays are judged upon knowledge, understanding, research of the subject, the ability to see how it relates to their lives today, and upon clarity of expression. As a former teacher, I am glad to see that we have some young people who will take an interest in what the founding fathers did and who are able to write about it.
