Janet Davis of Lebanon, Barbara Whittaker of Marshfield, Wendell and Linda Daugherty of Theodosia, and Jean Daugherty of Ava visited with Billy Fletcher, Saturday. Doris Holman, Carol Riggs, John Fruhe, and Billy went out to the home of Fred and Charlie Lindberg after church Sunday. They were celebrating Doris’s birthday.
Janice Keith visited with Tom and Jewell Johnson last week. It looks like Tom and Jewell have visitors every day, but most often the people, who are there, are their sons and other family members.
Norma Stillings took Paulette Walls to a Springfield doctor’s appointment last Tuesday. Then Norma drove to Mountain Grove, Wednesday for the annual Hospice Volunteers’ Picnic at the Alumni Park. There was good food and good entertainment by a local group, the surroundings were beautiful, and the weather was perfect. Norma attended a CHART meeting, Thursday at the MOCH Clinic Conference Room and visited at the Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center, Friday and Saturday.
Pete and Anna Goos of Lee’s Summit were in southern Missouri, Wednesday through Friday to visit with Pete’s sisters and brother and some of their children. Pete and Anna had made several stops before they arrived in Ava, Wednesday. They spent time at the home of Carl and Mary Goss where various family members gathered. Pete and Anna spent Wednesday and Thursday nights in the home of Anna’s sister, Norma Stillings.
Bobbye Priddy gave Norma Stillings a note expressing how well she likes the new sidewalk on 12th Avenue. She said it was about time. She walks from her home across from the Library to the DoCo, Inc. Recycling at the Sheltered Workshop and other places along the way. It was very hard and somewhat dangerous to walk along that busy street before they got that complete. Now it is much easier and safer. She said, “Good job!”
