October 24 – Wednesday evening Caney Church came together to praise the Lord and study His word.
Bro. Jim Lafferty was our leader this week. Prayer requests and praise reports were given. Bro. Hi Lambeth led our hearts in prayer. Jim read I Kings 3:5-14, I Timothy 4:11-16, II Timothy 4:1-7. He talked about how sad it is our leaders of our country do not follow after God. They don’t seek His wisdom, knowledge or truth. We had a good discussion and wonderful scriptures were read.
Sunday school opened with singing. Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone. Prayer requests and praise reports were given. Sis. Elsie Combs led us in prayer. Jack read Isaiah 56:1-8 for our devotion. We were blessed to have a good Sunday school lesson. Testimonies were given Jeff Shipley and Elsie Combs.
Praise and Worship began with congregational singing. Singing special music was Melissa Harmon. Pastor Bill Austin spoke this gorgeous Sunday morning. He read Isaiah 56:2 and Jeremiah 17:5-7. Who are we trusting in? Are we blessed or cursed? We are in a spiritual drought. Only through prayer can it be broken. Don’t trust in man, trust in the Lord. Blessed is that man who trusts in the Lord. It was a good message.
Sunday evening began with singing. Bro. Jeff Shipley took charge of our service, welcoming everyone. A wonderful prayer by Bro. Hi Lambeth. Testimonies were given by Hi Lambeth, Melba Austin, Doris Lambeth and Janice Lafferty. Pastor Bill spoke this evening from John 4:34-38, Galatians 6:8-10 and Romans 8:13-18. The fields are white, ready for harvest, but the labours are few. The world needs to be reached, taught the word of God. Are the Christians doing the will of God? Are we spreading the word like someone did for us?
Help us pray for our nation. Come worship with us. You are always welcome.
