October 17 – Wednesday evening Caney Church came together to praise the Lord and study His word.
We were thrilled to have Gabe Shipley take charge of the service. It’s good to have the youth learn the workings of the church. Prayer requests and praise reports were received. Bro. Jeff Shipley led in prayer. Gabe read Isaiah 34. He talked about how our nation needs to turn to the Lord and serve Him. We had a very good discussion that the world needed to hear. Pray before you vote.
Last Sunday we tried to show our pastor he was loved. Our youth presented himand Melba with cards and a basket full of goodies. We are blessed to have a God-called man to lead us.
Sunday school opened with congregational singing. Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone. Prayer requests and praise reports were received. We have much to be thankful for. Help us pray for the lost, unconcerned, sick, bereaved, our nation, the leaders and election and our military. Sis. Melba Austin led in prayer. Jack read I Corinthians 1:18-25 for our devotion.
After a good Sunday school lesson Happy Birthday was sung to Maddie Shipley. Gracie Shipley played the piano while offering was received. Then they led the church singing. Jeff Shipley and Gerald Yeary gave testimonies.
Praise and Worship began with congregational singing. Singing special music today was Melissa Harmon. Pastor Bill Austin spoke this beautiful Sunday morning. He brought his message from I Kings 8:17-19. What is in your heart? Is God in your heart? Do you want to do things for God? What is your hearts desire? Let it be in your heart to serve God.
After service we gathered for a wonderful dinner and time of fellowship. Then the youth and young at heart went on a hayride up to Caney Mountain. The children went down to the cave and explored then we had a small, but good service led by Bro. Jeff Shipley. It was a beautiful day in the Lord.
