September 19 – Caney Church met Wednesday evening to read and study God’s word. Service began with congregational singing. Bro. Jim was our leader tonight. He read from Ecclesiastes 2 and 5. We enjoyed this teaching. Bro. Jeff prayed for all the prayer requests. Bro. Tom Hodges will be bring the message this Sunday at 11:00 a.m. We are looking forward to this service. Everyone read scripture and we discussed them and had a real good Bible study. Sister Janice taught our young people tonight. Bro. Jeff was our leader next week. We were dismissed in prayer by Bro. Hi.
Sunday school opened with singing. Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone. He took prayer requests and praise reports. We have many concerns. Bro. Hi Lambeth led us in a good prayer. Bro. Jack read II Thess. 1:1-7 for our devotion.
After a great Sunday school lesson Happy Birthday was sung to Lorrinda Coulter and Melissa Harmon. God bless them. Sis. Tracy Shipley led the young ones in song while offering was received. Testimonies were given by Jeff Shipley, Jim Lafferty, Lorrinda Coulter, Bill Austin and Sharon Withrow.
Praise and Worship hour began with singing. Special music was performed by Melissa Harmon and Hannah Morgan. Bro. Tom Hodges was our speaker. He brought his message from I Kings 18:41-46. We need to be ready to meet Christ whether in 30 minutes or 30 years. Know that you can have that assurance. We were so blessed to have Tom and Beverly Hodges with us as well as the other visitors. We hope you turn into regulars.
Sunday evening began with singing. Bro. Jeff Shipley took charge of the service by taking prayer requests. Sis. Lila Roberts led in prayer. Testimonies were given by Janice Lafferty and Melba Austin. Pastor Bill Austin spoke Sunday evening from Ephesians 6:11-18 and Romans 8:6. We are in a spiritual war. We should have on the whole armour of God. We need to be on the defense against the devil’s evil ways. We must live by the word of God no matter what the world says. Don’t turn your back on God. There is no defense on the backside.
