Ruth Anne Rohrer Duran was born on Nov. 19, 1924, in Iowa City, Iowa. She was adopted by Milton and Stella Rohrer when she was 6 months old.
She entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Aug. 29, 2012, in Harrah, Okla.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose Duran, Sr., and her daughter, Patricia Duran Seals.
She is survived by eight of her children, Jose Duran, Jr. (Beverly), of San Antonio, Texas; Diana Tarrant, of Arkansas City, Kan.; Ana Trumbo, of Bloomington, Penn.; Thomas Duran (Sue), of Salem, Ala.; Estela Campbell (Larry), of Harrah, Okla.; John Duran, of Birmingham, Ala.; Chris Duran (Beverly), of Frisco, Texas; and Ruth Marcum, of Harrah, Okla. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Nadine Scholfield of San Francisco, Calif.; her brother, Milton Rohrer, Jr. (Katie) of California; and one nephew.
A funeral mass of Christian burial was held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. l at the Catholic Church of the Annunciation in Shelbyville, Ky., with Father Mike Tobin officiating. Burial was in Grove Hill Cemetery under direction of Shanon Funeral Home, Shelbyville, Ky.
