It’s amazing how our weather changes so fast. We’re all so happy over the rainfall and cool weather. I think we even had the heat on for a while at church partly because of dampness and it was a little cool for awhile.
Pastor Benny preached a good morning message from II Corinthians 6:17-18, Phil. 4:4-7 and Isaiah 57:11. Bro. Dewitt always brings us a good message. This week he had cataract surgery, but did real well anyway. Later he has to have surgery for a torn retina.
I enjoyed having granddaughter, Albany, with me at church once more Sunday morning and we had three visitors from Illinois. They have been visiting with Bro. and Sis. Valdez. They were relatives of Sis. Shela Valdez.
We had one birthday and we wish Bro. Glen Roy many more happy birthdays.
I had some bad news from my family in California . My brother, Orville Jennings, passed away Saturday evening of a heart attack and had enjoyed his day Saturday with his son, Brian. His daughter lives in Forrest Hills, California with her husband and two children. My brother adored those two grandchildren and his daughter, Tammy and son, Brina. He is already missed by his whole family and friends.
We enjoyed having a good crowd Sunday night with lots of good music and singing. Sis. Loretta Dewitt brought her continuing message from the 23rd Psalm. She was on Psalms 23:5 this week and titled it “Is Something Bugging You?” Comparing us to the sheep and the shepherd. I wish I had some of her sermons on tape to hear over again. She goes into such depth and background of the sheep. Her other scriptures were Numbers 8:10 and Mark 7:21 which stated in Mark 21 – “For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil though, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviouness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: all these evil things come from within, and defile a man.”
We want to invite everyone out Sunday the 23rd for the Fourth Sunday Singing at 2 p.m. It’s always good with everyone participating. Faith Rock is hosting this month and usually a different place each month.
I haven’t heard how Bro. Ross Martin is doing this week. Sis. Earnestine was expecting him home from the nursing home where he was doing physical therapy and he was better at that time. They have moved and I was unable to contact them for a time.
Bro. Ross’ brother. Joe Martin and Sis. Barbara had moved to Mountain Grove after selling their house and are liking their home at Mountain Grove. We appreciate them driving down to be in church as do several others at Faith Rock that drive quite a distance.
We will be quilting at Faith Rock today and stop at 2 p.m. to spend some time in the church to have prayer for needs and you are welcome.
