I understand that the annual Apple Festival in Seymour was a huge success this weekend, despite the rain that interrupted scheduled events on Friday evening. I hated to miss it this year as it is always a joy to see longtime friends, visit booths and take in some of the entertainment. I understand that our grandson Jimmy’s wife, Abby Inman had a booth there as well. She makes beautiful jewelry.
Fordland is sure seeing a lot of business in town on Thursday through Saturday as many are coming to eat at the new French eatery. I stopped in on Saturday and enjoyed their lunch special and had a nice visit with Elaine Parney (who owns the business with her husband and he is the chef). It was a great meal and it was nice to see some of our Olga friends doing well in business. I say they are Olga friends as they were frequent customers at Kindall Store, although, they reside near Dogwood. Their business is located in the former Tony’s Kitchen or Fried Pickle Cafe.
Saturday evening it was a pleasure to be asked by Nicholas and Sarah Inman to join them for the annual “Moonlight Tour” at Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield. We were on the 8:45 p.m. tour and we really enjoyed each stop along the battle field, where scenes were acted out for our group. It was a perfect evening for such an event and it must have taken an army of volunteers to put it all together. We really enjoyed ourselves and I hope to go again sometime as the scenes are different each year. Little Reagan Inman stayed and hung out with her great grandpa and they had a nice evening together as well, visiting Lazy Lees and watching races on television.
Happy Birthday wishes go out to Wilma Cardwell. Wilma has several family ties to this community and we used to see her at Kindall’s every so often. Hope she had a great day.
Stopped by Mercy Hospital on Saturday to see Clarence Larimore who is facing an operation. Clarence and his lovely wife, Carol are such sweet and caring people. We pray that he is back to his normal self in no time at all.
Congratulations to Bob Holden for his recent ordination into ministry. God Bless you and your family as you continue to work for the Lord. Bob delivered a terrific message on Sunday morning, prior to his ordination service, where Don Givans brought the ordination message. We are all really proud of Brother Bob.
Well, it is off to run some errands over around the Sparta area today. Hope this finds all you readers well and enjoying our second spring of the year! Hope to see you out this way in the near future. God Bless.
