August 29 – Caney came together Wednesday evening by singing. Bro. Jeff Shipley began service by taking prayer requests and praise reports. We are praying for the lost, sick, bereaved, for rain, our country and military. Bro. Jim led in prayer. Bro. Jeff read Hebrews 12:1-2 and John 13:1-17. Jesus’ joy was knowing He came from the Father and was going to return to the Father. Even as the Jews washed their feet so must we repent everyday even though we’ve been saved. We had a very interesting discussion on God’s good word. We need to walk the walk not just talk the talk.
Sunday school opened with congregational singing. Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone with prayer requests and praise reports. Thank God for the rain. Sis. Lorrinda Coulter led in prayer. Jack read Romans 5:1-5 for devotion.
After Sunday school Happy Birthday was sung to Doris Lambeth and Dylan Rogers. God bless them. Testimonies were given by Jim Lafferty, Jeff Shipley and Hi Lambeth.
Praise and Worship began with singing. Melba Austin did a special. Don’t forget we will be having a dinner after morning service September 9. All are welcome and bring a dish and enjoy the fellowship.
Pastor Bill Austin brought the morning meesage from Hebrews 13:8-9, 13-14, Psalms 102:25-27 and I Thess. 4:13-17. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. He promised us a city to come. We must keep our hearts close to God. We can live forever if we believe Christ died for us.
Sunday evening we came together to praise the Lord and learn more of God’s word. Bro. Bill welcomed everyone and took prayer requests and praise reports. Sis. Doris Lambeth led in prayer. Jack Essary gave a testimony. Bro. Jim Lafferty was our speaker Sunday evening. He brought his message from Isaiah 49:1-7. Down through the dispensations of time God has not given up on His people, always forgiving and making a way for us. Salvation is for all. Christ died for you. It was a spirit-filled message from God today. We are blessed.
