Pastor Bob, Darlene, and Sally Sorensen returned home from a trip to visit with family members and friends in the Dakota Dunes area in Nebraska. Pastor Bob preached at Harvest Time Baptist Church in Grand Island, Nebraska, and the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Sioux City, Iowa. Luke Sorensen returned to Ava with them after having worked several months in that area.
The Young Women in Christ will be meeting Monday afternoons at 3:30 p.m. Darlene Sorensen will be picking them up with the church van after school. The girls will have a devotion, do a craft or other fun project, and have a snack. Sometimes they make the snack. They have done some work with plastic canvas, tie-dye T-shirts, and some cooking.
Darlene and Sally sang a duet with Darlene Sunday morning accompanying them on her mandolin. Pastor Bob Sorensen brought a message from Philippians 4, “Seven hearts a Christian should have.”
Each Christian should have a heart for helping whatever the need, a heart that rejoices in every kind of circumstance, a heart that gives more than is required, a heart that trusts instead of worrying, a heart that has the peace with God that comes from obedience, a heart that is content and not envious, and if he exhibits those positive attitudes, the reward of a happy heart.
