This cool weather has been welcome the past few days. We turned our air conditioner off.
KKOZ radio station did a good job giving out the election returns last week.
Basketball practice started last week at Plainview. Kailey Thompson will be playing. She will be in the 7th grade. Kinsey has been playing softball for Ava this summer. She will be a freshman.
Goodhope General Baptist Church Ladies Ministry held their meeting Saturday morning with a breakfast. Kimberly Stillings had a round table discussion of current events. We invite other women to join us. Brenda Reed and others gave a bag of school supplies, to each boy and girl in church Sunday. Dick and I picked Kelly Thompson up at the Branson airport Friday afternoon. He had been in Chicago all week on business. That was the first time we had seen the airport. They had to move tons of rock to make all those roads. Kelly, Deanna, Kailey and Kyle Thompson went to Cape Girardeau, Missouri to visit family and friends Saturday and Sunday. Katie Jenkins took Brenden Woodall and Kinsey Thompson to Silver Dollar City Saturday. Dick and I along with Kinsey had lunch with Norma Cross and Seth Hunt, Sunday after church.
Last week Denny and Delmar Oliver and Shelby Rollins of Rolla drove down to spend a few days with grandparents, Tom and Sue Brown before school starts, and with Denny and Delmar’s mother, Dianne Garrison. They also visited with great-grandparents, Ervin and Lodean Schultz. All three boys are seniors this year. Tom and Sue’s youngest granddaughter, Kayli, is a freshman. Wow, where does time go.
Recently, Kayli Brown spent a few days with grandparents, Tom and Sue, to help with some household projects, cleaning out cabinets and painting.
Saturday Rodney came out and mowed his parent’s yard. Kayli enjoyed riding Papa’s four-wheeler.
Gospel singing group “Faithful” was at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, August 5, 2012. They sang six songs. Rev. Carl Ray is the pastor. The group “Faithful” members are Sue Brown, Cindy Winslow and Susan Sinclair.
Elaine Coonts of Nixa came down Sunday to visit Ervin and Lodean Schultz.
