Opening our morning service with prayer was Joie Welker.
In our Sunday school class, Isaiah, chapter 9, we learned about how Isaiah fortetold the coming of the son of God. The only one who is all wise, mighty, eternal and full of peace can shoulder the responsibilities of world government.
Happy Birthday wishes went out to little Chloe Young.
Our special song was by Wanda Casady, Faye Allen, Narvil Tetrick and Wendell Deo.
We had many prayer requests and remember George Welker who is in the hospital and also Beverly Tetrick, both of them are having tests this week and hope Cub Lafferty is doing better with his heart condition.
Pastor Hall’s morning message was from I Corinthian 1-9. The pastor is commissioned by God and given grace to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and make him the center of our life. When we lift up Christ we are teaching holiness.
Joie and Stacey Welker just returned from a trip to the World Horseshoe Pitching Tournament in Knoxville, Tennessee where he placed 7th in his division.
Saturday, August 11, many attended the beautiful outdoor wedding of Daniel Young and Mandy Ramsey. The best men including the groom, rode in on their motorcycles through the arch and the bride was escorted in by her grandfather. Doyle Young was ring bearer and flower girls were Rebecca and Chloe Young. Everyone enjoyed the occasion.
Amber Miller, daughter of Steve and Vickie Miller was entered in the National American Miss Pageant, hosted by the National Honor Society in Columbia, Missouri last week and we are very proud of her.
August 17th is our Third Friday Night Singing at 7 p.m. with snacks afterwards.
Joanna and Kelly Huffman went to a birthday get-together party at the city park last weekend and Joanna got to see and hold her new great-granddaughter, Isabel Faith born to Jessica and Jerry Davidson.
Sunday night, August 19th we will be having a communion service in our evening service, after singing and testimonies, our special song was by the choir. Bro. Hall’s sermon was from John 14:16-17, “Promis of the Holy Spirit,” and it is a necessity to have a born again experience. The Holy Spirit dwells within you and gives us the power to win the lost in a dying world.
