Everyone was rejoicing for the good rain the Lord sent our way, Saturday. Most folks in this area received around 2 1/2 inches, which was a life saver for the pastures and ponds. We continue to have many of our friends and loved ones with health problems, some praise reports and always many on our prayer concern list.
Brother Ric Englehardt brought a great message for the morning and evening concerning church growth. We invite you to Mt. Tabor Church, you will be made to feel welcome.
We sang a belated happy anniversary for Martin and Mary Ann Hathcock’s 59 years together.
A reminder to everyone that “Old Folk’s Day”, will be Sunday, September 9, 2-4 p.m. If you have a handmade gift, we would appreciate having that for our drawing, and bring a song, reading, poem or some remembrance of “olden days”. Please tell anyone you think would be interested or have some connection to Mt. Tabor Church, Mt. Tabor School or community.
Mae Cox’s visitors this week were Debbie Willis, with wonderful produce from their garden, Lisa Johnson and Jesse, and Donna Nichols. Mae also enjoyed attending the baby shower for Amanda and Joseph Elliott, Saturday.
Mary Ann Hathcock is having therapy at home, now, and seems to be improving, although it is not as fast as she would like. Those visiting Mary Ann and Martin this past week was Eleazar and Ronda Soto, Pat Smith, Jim Hathcock, Betty Jenkins and Lenore Burton, Hellen Blakey, Jewell Elliott and Kay Hutchison.
Wendell Wilkie visited Tom and Jewell Elliott one day last week. Jewell enjoyed a long visit by phone with her cousin, Ted Stevens, in Washington state. MaKayla and Logan Elliott spent Monday with the Elliotts and Tom and Jewell visited Albert and Doris Elliott, Tuesday evening.
Bessie Hall was able to attend the pink and blue shower Saturday for her great-grandson and wife, Joseph and Amanda Elliott, along with several other relatives and friends.
Dylan Clements and Sarah Claussen ate supper with Harold and Kay Hutchison Friday evening. Dylan attended the football camp of the Kansas City Chiefs in St. Joseph, Saturday.
Harold Hutchison celebrated his birthday Sunday, August 5. He enjoyed calls from his children, grandchildren and sisters.
Morgan Clements spent Tuesday and Wednesday with his Hutchison grandparents.
Visitors of Bessie this week were Jo Stephens, Carla Wilson, Jewell Elliott, J.C. and Vicky, Evelyn Bryan, Kay Hutchison and Kim Clements.
