July 29 – Sunday School opened with singing. Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone. Prayer requests and praise reports were taken. Sis. Janice Lafferty led in prayer. Jack read James 2:1-5 for our devotion.
After a great Sunday School lesson Happy Birthday was sung to Susan Todd and Happy Anniversary to Jeff and Tracy Shipley. We then took up the offering. Testimonies were given by Jeff Shipley, Janice Lafferty, Vanessa Mills, Bill Austin and Melba Austin.
Praise and Worship began with congregational singing. Melissa Harmon sang a special. Pastor Bill Austin spoke this morning from I Kings 20:39-40. God has placed your life in your control, choose the good for your life. He has also placed your soul in your control, choose the best for it. We will be held accountable for the choices we make, choose Christ, do not fail to serve God. It was a very good message.
We came together Sunday evening singing. Bro. Jeff welcomed everyone. He took prayer requests. We are praying for the lost, sick, bereaved and rain. Bro. Jim Lafferty led in prayer. Testimonies were given by Janice Lafferty, Melba Austin, Bill Austin and Lila Roberts. Bro. Jack Essary was the speaker of the hour Sunday evening. He brought his message from II Chronicles 7:12-14 and I Peter 5:5-11. When we humble ourselves and repent and turn from our wicked ways, God will hear our prayers. Notice what we need to do, maybe our blessings are being witheld because we don’t follow His word.
We are blessed to have God fearing men in our church who will stand and try to do what God tells them.
Lets all pray for our country and that God will send a good rain and we surely do need a spiritual rain. Thank God for answered prayers.
