Wednesday evening services were conducted by Michael Marah. His scripture was I Kings 3:9-11, 10:6 and 11:1. The message was about Solomon, a man who God had blessed with riches beyond belief and great wisdom. Solomon asked God for an understanding heart to judge the people. His speech pleased the Lord. God told him there would be no kings like him, and that he would lengthen his days, but only if thou walk in my ways.
We all know the story, as it unfolds, as we acquire certain things, wealth, houses, cars and land, we forget what we promised God and what he told us. Solomon left the old paths, took other gods and did evil in the sight of the Lord. God took his kingdom from him.
Sunday morning service, was started by our prayer requests. There is so much sickness, problems and trouble, but God is still in control.
Prayer was asked for by Don and Marvin G., Chad E., Newt D., Ryan, Nathan C., who is in the Navy in the Middle East, Connie C. and all our military. Never forget to pray, God will bring us rain. Only God can break this drought, but we can’t quit praying.
The morning message, by Pastor Gary, was in I Peter 3:8. It’s about Christian conduct – compassion, loving one another, not rendering evil for evil, refrain our tongues from evil.
Evening message was on seeking and finding. I heard the statement made that God’s people turn to Him to fix the messes they have made. We hold on to our belongings, even though God has given them to us. What if God took all our “stuff” from us? We need to have faith in God, I love the ‘Faith’ chapter, Hebrews 11. Some of the great men of faith, Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph and Moses. We need to pray for more faith to be able to step out when God calls us to a task.
