July 18 – Wednesday evening church came together to praise and worship and study God’s word.
Bro. Jeff Shipley took charge of the evening service by taking prayer requests. Sis. Janice Lafferty led in prayer.
Jeff read John 15:16, 16:4. We need to stay apart from the world as much as possible. If we love Christ we need to live like it. The world will hate you for following Christ. Just remember His love for you. Enccouraging words from the word and taught by Jeff.
Everyone that wanted read scripture and had interesting thoughts.
July 22 – Caney Church began with singing led by Bro. Hi Lambeth. Bro. Jack asked for prayer requests.Several requests were made known and several praise reports were given. We are all praying for rain and we have lots of our Caney family and friends traveling on vacation. Sister Lorrinda led us in prayer. Bro Jack read our devotional from Luke 15:1-24. Bro. Eytcel Coulter had a birthday. Several good testimonies were given. Bro. Jim and Bro. Hi both sang good specials songs. Our church has been greatly saddenedd by the passing of our Bro. Versal Withrow. We will miss him so much, but we know Heaven welcomes him home. Bro. Versal was such a blessing to us all during the short time he was with us here at Caney. Bro. Versal’s funeral services were held in his hometown of Sinis, Ill. Bro. Bill took his text from the 17th chapter of Luke. This was a very good message and we enjoyed it very much. We were dismissed in prayer by Sister Linda.
We came together Sunday evening and began services again with singing led by Bro. Hi. Bro. Jeff took prayer requests. We have friends traveling who need prayer as well as our need for rain and the many unsaved loved ones.
Bradleyville General Baptist will be having Bible School this week starting at 9 a.m. and ending at noon. Sister Doris led us in prayer. Bro. Bill brought the message tonight from Psalms 36 and Romans 11:33-36. We enjoyed Bro. Bill’s message and were dismissed in prayer by Bro. Jack Essary.
