Last Sunday’s sermon was from Deuteronomy 8: 1-11, “Let Us Not Forget.”
Last Sunday evening was a huge success at Walnut Grove Church as we celebrated our freedom with music, food, face painting, snow cones and of course fireworks. The guys did a wonderful job of setting them off without starting any fires.
This Sunday’s sermon was from Psalms 46: 1-10, “Facing Life With God’s Help.”
Service was opened with lots of good music and songs. Sister Joyce Erickson sang a beautiful special. Sunday evening service was singing then prayer service.
Vacation Bible School is going on this week from 6:00- 8:00 P.M. at Walnut Grove Church.
We are certainly thankful for the good rains that some have been receiving the last couple of days. We had three inches here at Smallett.
We enjoyed a get-together of family and friends on July 4th at our home. Those enjoying a delicious meal prepared by Pauline Okhuysen, Bevy Moore, Becky Carter, Kathleen Deatherage and myself. The cleanup was done for me too so really was a treat. Those enjoying the meal and visiting were: Nora Hunsaker, Lee Williams, Pauline Okhuysen, Vern, Kathleen and Chris Deatherage, Garry and Bevy Moore, Eldon Bice, Rusty, Becky, Hailey and Maeson Carter, Betty DeChenne, Delmar and Margaret Rosseau. The day was concluded with watching neighbors setting off fireworks.
On Thursday, Pauline, Delmar and I went to Seymour and bought peaches. Delmar helped me peel them and then I put them in the freezer. We also, put some corn in the freezer too. That will sure taste good when the snow is flying this winter.
