After opening prayer and singing, our Sunday School lesson was on “Making A Fresh Start.” We all need a fresh start sometimes. In the Jewish year of Jubilee it shows God cares about people and enables them to recover from calamity and trust God more.
Birthday wishes goes out to Jackson Beard and we wish a Happy Anniversary to Larry and Bobby Miller.
June 24th at 5 p.m. is a Vacation Bible School meeting at the church. Saturday evening June 23rd is youth adult meeting at 7 p.m.
Joie and Stacey Welker are proud grandparents of a new granddaughter, Rylee Jo, weighing 9 lbs. and 6 oz. She is the daughter of Mindy (Welker) Taylor and husband, Jesse.
The church recognized the oldest father which was Williard Short and the youngest was David Young. Also the fathers winning some special prizes was Greg Mosley, Steve Miller, Joie Welker and Williard Short.
We had a very touching Father’s Day reading by Narvil Tetrick, and our special song was by Brenda, Rod, Wanda, Wendell and Narvil.
Pastor Hall’s Father’s Day message was from Psalm 112. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord. The fear of the Lord is beginning of wisdom and a good understanding. Dad’s should spend time with their children and parents should build a Christian foundation for their family.
Sunday evening a good crowd attended the Father’s Day Fish Fry at Gentry. We appreciate Doug Miller and Casey Merrifield and others for furnishing the fish and cooking them along with Sheila Miller, Narvil Tetrick, Stephanie Maggard, Josh Allen fixing fried potatoes, onions, squash and hush puppies. It was delicious!
