We had enough for two tables for pinochle tournament. Congratulations to these ladies: Annabelle Walker (798), Millie Heavener (669) and Willene Adams (651). Each of the ladies received a free meal here at the Center.
Our menu for the week is: Monday, June 25—Meatloaf, baked potato, carrots, roll, Jell-o with fruit. Tuesday, June 26—Cook’s Choice. Wednesday, June 27—Home style chicken, mashed potatoes, carrots, bread, poke ‘n pour cake. Thursday, June 28—Spaghetti and meatballs, salad bar, green beans, garlic roll, pudding. Friday, June 29—Fish, mac ‘n cheese, coleslaw, hush puppies, cheesecake.
Our activities include, but are not limited to: Tuesday—OATS bus to West Plains. Wednesday—Douglas County OATS Board Meeting. Thursday—Driver’s exam in the basement, Grace Health Care Foot Clinic (moved from last week). Friday—OATS bus not available.
The winners in the pitch tournament on June 18 were: Hulda Tipton (231), Claude Coberly (226) who gave his away, and Max Decker (217) and Dessie Miller (217) tied for third. We again had five tables with twenty players. There are pitch, pinochle or hand and foot card games going on every day and you are welcome to join us.
If you have extra fresh garden vegetables you would like to share, we would like to be the recipient of them here at the center. And much appreciation!
In this heat, if you need a cool place to come and sit and read or play cards or dominoes or put a puzzle together, come by the center. It is smoke-free and alcohol free.
