God is a good God and his mercy endures forever. O give thanks unto the God of heaven: for his mercy endureth for ever. Ps 136:26 We serve a merciful God.
In understanding God’s will to heal, everything hinges on the goodness of God and his love for humanity, not that we deserved any of the blessings God gives, but that we receive them as a gift through faith in the son of God, recognizing it was Jesus’ sacrifice that restored our relationship with the Father.
In Christ we can boldly approach the throne (Heb 4) and receive the blessing of healing, not of ourselves…but through Jesus. That is why we worship him, because he is worthy, because he is good, and if it wasn’t for Jesus making the bridge between us and Father God, we would be hopelessly lost from our creator. Jesus is everything we need. When God looks at you he sees his son Jesus. You as a believer are In Christ and God loves you as he loves his son. Thank you Jesus.
Isaiah 53: 4-5 tells of the sacrifice of Jesus hundreds of years before he was born on the earth, saying of him, Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
The Apostle Peter taught of Jesus in 1 Peter 2:24 saying, Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. We were healed by the stripes that Jesus took for us. If we are healed by Jesus’ stripes, why are so many loving, faithful Believers sick and diseased? There are many reasons, lack of knowledge being one of them. Hosea 4:6 says, My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.
If we don’t know, we won’t know until we read it or someone shows or tells us. Healing is there for the believer to take by faith, and it takes time to build faith. Be encouraged, the Holy Spirit will help you, but your part is to get in the word. As the parable of the Sower shows in Matthew 13, some of us have soil that is not good in some areas so we cannot receive the seed of the word. If our hearts are not prepared to receive the word that God wants us well we can remedy that by getting in the word. The good and encouraging news is that God has provided faith building words for us to read. His word will build your faith in him. Reading through instances when Jesus heals the sick will build your faith in God and the Bible says the Lord Jesus does not change (Heb 13), he still desires to heal those who come to him to take their healing by faith. Just like
someone handing you a gift, healing is there from Jesus to you.
Until next time, God bless you and your loved ones.
