Sunday, June 10th, was the first Sunday after Trinity. Bishop Hartley, based his sermon on the Epistle for the day, I John 4:7, “Beloved, let us love one another for love is of God and everyone that loveth is born of God…He that loveth not knoweth not God.” God’s love and mercy, are unearned, we receive it from God through His Son, Jesus Christ, and it is the duty of the Christian, to demonstrate that love in the world; material wealth and power, should not be our goals in life, for they pass away but God is eternal.
Our member, Rita Fancher, was the director of the Ava Art Guild’s Spring Art Show, that just closed at the gallery. Rita also won a 3rd in the 3-D art category for, “Stoney Point Cottage.” The Berthold sisters, Natalie and Laura, also did well in the “under 18″ category; Natalie took a 3rd for, “Grapevine” and Laura, a 1st for, “Picasso Stole my Hair.” We are proud of our artists and the contribution they make to our church and our community.
