Dick Richards sat at the Walnut Grove Cemetery Saturday the 26th. He got to visit with lots of people he knew, and some he didn’t know, I think. Jerry, Joe and Jim Johnson was there most of the time. He really enjoyed visiting with them. Their dad, Mont Johnson, was Dick’s teacher at Walnut Grove School many years ago.
Tuesday the 29th Dick and Pauline Richards and Georgia Sanders from Oklahoma went to Ozark to visit their Aunt Vi Twibble. She lives in the Ozark Senior Apartment. She is 94 years old. She lives by herself. Then we drove out to my son’s, Danny Maloney’s home, for a while. Their daughter and her two children from Columbia were there.
Wednesday Georgia and I went to the nursing home to see oursister-in-law, Peggy Jenkins, Irene Richards and Goldia Miller.
Dick stopped Thursday to see his sister, Helen Dobbins.
We all went to watch Kailey and Kyle Thompson play ball, it was very chilly Thursday evening.
Georgia Sanders’ son, Ron and wife, Shellie Sanders, came up Saturday from Tulsa, Oklahoma to pick Georgia up and take her home. She had been here for a couple of weeks spending time with Pauline, Norma Cross and others. They stopped to see Peggy Jenkins on their way home.
June 3rd attendance at Goodhope General Baptist Church Sunday was 91. Pastor David Welsh used Ezekiel 18:1-6 for his sermon. Lisa Richards and Susie Adams both sang specials. Sue Brown played piano in the absence of DeAnn Thompson. Mary Baumgardner was on harmonica and Glen Dale Robertson played the banjo as Stetson Lavelle played guitar.
On May 23 Tom and Sue Brown drove Ervin and Lodean Schultz, Ron and Judy Lethco to Springfield to decorate graves of family members. Lodean’s brother and wife, Vincene and Della Ann Nelson, met them at cemetery to visit with everyone. Then the group except for Vincene and Della Ann drove to Tom’s sister, Zola Lutz, for lunch. Zola’s daughter, Linda Storee joined them. All had a nice visit.
May 26 Sue drove Ervin and Lodean and Ron and Judy to Mound, Union Grove and Goodhope Cemeteries to decorate. Also drove down by the place where Sue and Ron grew up at Merritt. Tom had lunch ready when the group returned.
May 27 – The wedding shower for Lacey George and Wyatt Reed was well attended. After opening their many useful gifts, cake, punch and nuts and coffee was served to everyone. We wish them many years of happiness.
