May 30 – Caney Church met Wednesday evening to thank the Lord and study His word. We began with singing. We had a wonderful time of singing. We sang several old songs. Bro. Hi Lambeth was our leader Wednesday evening. He began by taking prayer requests and praise reports. Bro. Jim Lafferty led in prayer. Hi read Revelation 5:1-4. Everyone and everything will praise the Lord and bow down to Him. We’d better praise Him here so that we will make heaven. We had an interesting discussion and wonderful scripture was read. It is so sad to see how unconcerned people are. We pray that others will take an interest or a desire to come and worship and study with us.
Sunday school opened with singing. Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone and prayer requests and praise reports were given. We have many concerns and much to be thankful for. Bro. Jeff Shipley led in prayer. Jack read Deuteronomy 32:1-7 for our devotion. We had a very good Sunday School lesson and discussion. Testimonies were given by Jim Lafferty and Jack Essary.
Praise and Worship began with singing. Singing special music today were Melissa Harmon and Melba Austin. Pastor Bill Austin brought the morning message from II Kings 25:27-30 and Titus 2:11-15. How many years have you wasted in sin? By grace you can be saved. Christ can lift you out of sin and set your feet on the rock. Salvation is a wonderful gift. It was a spirit filled message.
We are planning a church dinner, June 24 after morning services. Bring a covered dish and join in our fellowship.
Sunday night service began with singing. Bro. Jim Lafferty took charge of the service taking prayer requests. Sis. Janice Lafferty led in prayer. Testimonies were given by Jack Essary ad Melba Austin. Pastor Bill spoke Sunday evening from I Chronicles 13:12, I John 4:18 and Revelation 2:9-10. The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom when we love God there is no fear. When we follow His commandments we know He will bless us. Fear God and keep His commandments. We need to get a vision of Hell. We would work harder to get our loved ones into the house of the Lord. Service ended singing.
