Hopefully it will rain today. It kind of looks like it might.
Freeda Richards and I attended my cousin, Ruby Miller’s funeral last week. Our prayers are with the family.
Jim Haas and his daughter, LeAnn Gravel, and her granddaughter, Kaylee from Skitook, Oklahoma came up last Tuesday to decorate Reatha (Jenkins) Haas’ grav in the Jenkins Cemetery. They stopped by the Jenkins building in Goodhope to visit awhile.
Don and Karen Sanders from Claremore, Oklahoma brought Georgia Sanders up Tuesday. She will be spending tme with Norma Cross and Pauline Richards for a couple of weeks or so. We all had lunch in Ava Wednesday along with Dick.
Friday, Bill and Sue Johnson from Claremore, Oklahoma and Pete and Sandra Jenkins from Fayetteville, Arkansas all come up for Memorial weekend. Several of us gathered in the Jenkins building in Goodhope most of the weekend. We had our Jenkins-Applegate Reunion Saturday. The five children left of Lee and Mavie (Applegate) Jenkins, always enjoy being together looking at pictures, playing games and of course, eating. Everyone went home, but Donnie and Karen and their family. They plan on leaving today.
Bruce and Marsha Britten from DuQuoin, Illinois and Kelly Thompson’s parents left Thursday after spending several days with the Thompsons.
Gared and Kate (Richards) Reeves and Luke and Josh from Cape Girardeau came up Sunday afternoon to take their R.V. home. They bought it from Dick and Pauline.
Our attendance was down Sunday, but we had good music – Stetson Lavelle on guitar, Bro. Bob Huskey on guitar, Mary Baumgardner on harmonica, Glen Dale Robertson on banjo and DeAnn Thompson on the piano. LeAnn Crum with Option Pregnancy Clinic of Ava spoke during the morning service.
Kelly Thompson grilled bratwurst at the Richards home for lunch Monday serving DeAnn, Kinsey, Kailey and Kyle Thompson, Abby Gale Hulsey, Georgia Sanders and Dick and Pauline.
