I hope you enjoyed a wonderful Memorial Day weekend and in some special way, honored those who have gone on before. Those who made the nation we live in, not only a possibility but the reality which we are so blessed to enjoy today. Some of us spent most of the weekend in the Oak Grove Cemetery, greeting and visiting with those who came to decorate the final resting places of their loved ones, who have completed their journey in this life. If you have never been actively involved with anything like that, I highly recommend it. You not only get to visit with lots of folks you may have known for years, but seldom see and you will also meet new friends whom you may never have encountered otherwise.
Our morning message was taken from Exodus 3:15, where Moses asked God to give him a name, so that he could tell the people who had sent him to free them. Moses was told, “I am, that I am,” was sending him, “The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob,” had sent him to the people and that, “This was His memorial to all generations.” The entire Bible is, from Genesis through Revelation, the memorial of God to all who will come and see, the truth that is, Our Heavenly Father, and His Son, our Savior.
With about two thirds of our congregation traveling this past Memorial Day weekend, your empty seat was only one of many. Seriously, we really would love for you to come and join us. We will try to make you feel welcome and the Lord will bless you, come on down!
