Wednesday night service was presented by Michael Marah, a young man who has been called to preach. The a.m. message was in Matthew 8:23-27. We all know the story in these scriptures; the ship in the midst of a storm, His disciples scared to death, when Jesus came to them walking on the water. They were still afraid but Jesus said, “Be of good cheer, it is I, be not afraid.” Still today we are afraid, scared, the seas are high, the storms are so intense, but Jesus is in control, he still rebukes the wind and brings a calm, to our troubled sea.
God has given us a beautiful day to worship Him. There were many prayer requests; Missy’s father, Don and Marvin G., Betty Herrell’s family, the Wallace family, the Valentine family, Reba N., unspoken, Lorene M. and Becky B.
Sunday was our third Sunday sing, not many songs were sung, so the pastor preached. The message was about the rules of God. The Ten Commandments were given to Moses of God. In Matthew 22:37-40, Jesus said unto him, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul and with all thy mind.” Verse 38 says, “This is the first commandment, verse 39, and the second is like into the first, “thou shall love thy neighbor as thyself.” How do we Christians, in today’s times, stand concerning these scriptures? The Lord is not slack concerning His promises, but long-suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but all should come over to repentance, that’s a hard word to obey, repentance.
