Caney Church came together singing, “I Cannot Find the Way Alone.” Brother Jim Lafferty took charge of the service, taking prayer requests, praise reports and Sister Melba Austin led in prayer. Jim read, Ezra 10:3-15. He talked about the word, ‘compliant,’ with the rules at work and how hard we work towards that. We should be compliant with God’s word and work hard towards that. We had a good discussion on this scripture. Everyone had good scripture to read and interesting thoughts and words. Wish others would have the desire to come and study God’s word with us. It is truly a blessing. When we put God first in our lives, He will supply our needs.
Sunday School opened with singing. Brother Jack Essary, welcomed everyone to service. Prayer requests and praise reports were taken. We have many concerns; lost, sick, bereaved, seniors, Sister Lorrinda Coulter led in prayer. Jack read, I Corinthians 15:50-58, for our devotion. Dismissed to study the Word of God. After Sunday school, Happy Birthday was sung for Riley Isaccs. God bless him. Testimony from; Jeff Shipley, Versil Withrow, Vanessa Mills, Janice Lafferty and Rob Dalton. Singing today from; Jim Lafferty and Melba Austin.
Pastor Bill Austin, spoke this morning from Romans 10:20 & 21;God is stretching out His hand to a disobedient people. Jeremiah 4:19-21, 6:13-16; We are challenged to pray this week for the youths. People seemingly have no understanding of evil. We need to stand in the ways of God and do His will. Our youth is fast slipping away.
We were blessed to have the Dalton’s with us today. You are always welcome.
Sunday evening service began with singing. Brother Jeff Shipley welcomed everyone and Sister Lela Roberts led in prayer. We had testimonies from; Jim Lafferty, Jack Essary, Bill Austin, Hi Lambeth, Melba Austin and Janice Lafferty. Brother Jim Lafferty was our speaker. Sunday evening, his scripture was; Exodus 2:23-25 and 3:7-10. Our country has turned its back on God, it seems. Even Christians are on a down hill slide. Christians, we need to stop and stand for Christ. Let’s not be in bondage to sin. Let’s start serving a Living God. Other countries are begging for and sneaking Bibles into their homes, while America has no respect for the Word. When we ask and repent, God will love us and forgive us. Is your name in the Book of Life? A God sent message.
Pray for our youth this week. Come and worship with us, we are a Bible believing church.
