Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers, I hope you had a great day and that your children took the time to tell you how much they love and appreciate you.
If you have a Christian mother who taught you about the love of God, you are very blessed indeed. I have that mother and I am so glad she taught me to love God and to enjoy good gospel music. Roger and I went up to the nursing home and enjoyed the afternoon tea with all the residents and guests to honor mother’s.
We also honored out mothers at church Sunday morning. Those receiving special gifts were: Gracie Williams, Kristin Applegate, Sybil Harvill, Virginia Hampton and Wanda Hutchinson. All the ladies of the church received a box of Russel Stover’s candies and we are glad they were all in church this morning. I know the boys were wanting chocolate, but this was Mother’s Day, I told them their day would be here in a few weeks.
Donald preached on Moses’ mother and how she cared and protected her son, and when we were at the nursing home, two different people talked about Moses’ mother. She was the theme of the day. If you need to find a guide of how to be a good mother, the Bible is the best place to start to start your study.
Last Sunday we had our communion service. It was a very moving service. Our number was down a little, but you don’t have to have a large crowd to serve God. Donald was preaching a revival and was out of state, so Jon preached for us.
My week had been busy as ususal, Friday I missed work and went garage saling with my sister-in-law. We had a good day, found some bargains and just relaxed and got all caught up on our visiting. Saturday, Shawn, Miranda, Alexis and Braxton came out to visit. Courtney, Rilee and Logan also were here. They stayed while Dustin and Tina went to a graduation. Before the night was over, I had my whole family here. I always enjoy being with my kids and grandkids. Now looking ahead at my calendar, I don’t think the month is going to be slack for anything do. That’s okay, if I’m busy, it keeps me out of trouble. I shouldn’t tell Jimmy this, but I have two tomatoes almost ripe. Imagine not even June and ripe tomatoes! If he reads this I may have to watch guard on my tomato plant.
I hope you all are having a wonderful week. Remember it’s never to late to tell your mother how much you love her. Also take time to thank God for the mother he gave you and ask Him to give her a special blessing this week. Take care and God bless.
