We had a large group of visitors for our morning service, we appreciate each one that came. We had a great many requests for prayer for our church families, friends and loved ones. We pray for the bereaved and those still dealing with health issues.
Brother Ric Englehardt brought the morning sermon, using Paul as the example, as we press toward the high calling. In the evening service, Brother Don Bryan spoke about what the Christian people need to do in order to turn things around in this world we are living in. They both did an excellent job. Marsha Blakey gave her testimony before the morning message, we were glad to have family and friends with her.
Don and Evelyn Bryan are going to be painting at Camp Piland beginning Friday, and there will be a camp board meeting and work day on Saturday. Everyone is needed to help out and get the camp ready for the first group, May 29.
We sang Happy Birthday to Lisa Englehardt for her birthday and also to Elijah, last week, on his 6th birthday.
Brother Scottie Eaves will be our speaker this Sunday, please feel free to come and join us.
Visiting in Mae Cox’s home was Betty Jenkins, Lenore Burton, Louis Peebles, Donna Nichols, Lisa Johnson and Jesse. Johnny and Pauline Pruiett were here from Illinois to attend the funeral of his nephew, Richard Cox. The visited Mae on their way home.
Nina Carter and friends from the DAR, were in Colombia this past weekend doing business for their club.
Pat Lansdown did grocery shopping for Myrl Cox, Tuesday. Paul Cox mowed her yard, also. Pat has put out lots of flowers for her mother, for her to enjoy.
Ronnie and Pat Lansdown enjoyed having grandchildren, Jadon and Kayley spent Saturday night with them. Doug and Kristie came and had an early Mother’s Day with Pat on Sunday.
Ronda Soto spent Sunday night with Martin and Mary Ann, then the next day she drove Martin to his doctor appointment. Wes and Pat Smith came and took the Hathcocks out for Martin’s birthday. Others wishing him a happy birthday were sons, Bob and Jim, and Tom Harris. He received many calls wishing him happy birthday on Tuesday.
Those visiting with Tom and Jewell Elliott last week was Dian Smith, Shaun Elliott, and James Elliott.
Linda Turner and her daughter, Amy, and her baby daughter, Cloie, visited Bessie Hall last Friday. Jewell Elliott visited with them, also. Others visiting Bessie was Lenore Burton and Betty Jenkins, Kim Clements, Harold and Kay Hutchison, J.C. Hall, Lisa Johnson and Jesse.
Visiting with Tom and Jewell Elliott was Dean Smith, Mtn. Grove, Shawn Elliott and James Elliott.
