Our menu for this week includes Monday, May 14—BBQ meatballs, mac ‘n cheese, peas and carrots, applesauce. Tuesday, May 15—Chicken, baked potato, Brussel sprouts, cookie. Wednesday, May 16—Roast beef, mashed potatoes, gravy, broccoli w/cheese, cobbler. Thursday, May 17—Spaghetti, salad bar, green beans, garlic roll, pudding. Friday, May 18—Sweet and sour chicken, egg roll, Oriental vegetables, jell-o with fruit.
The activities for the week include, but are not limited to: Monday—OATS bus to Ava and Goodhope. Wednesday–OATS bus to Ava. Thursday—Grace Health Care foot clinic (must have an appointment), Douglas County Health Department blood sugar tests. Friday—OATS bus to Ava.
Older adults who forget to take their medicine fall 50% more often than those who take their medications as prescribed. Don’t be one of the 50%–take your meds as ordered by the doctor.
Most people don’t drink enough water. In fact, some researchers estimate that ¾ of older adults walk around chronically dehydrated. It is recommended that each person drink eight glasses of water a day. If you don’t, it could lead to dizziness or heart palpitations.
Everyone knows just how important a good credit score is, but most people probably don’t know of it in terms of wasting dollars. Your credit score affects everything from your interest rate to auto insurance. It’s simple, seniors: the higher your credit score, the more money you have in your pocket. You need a score of 760 or higher to qualify for the top/best interest rates.
