Several attended the White River Association’s 130th Session. We thank God for a great time in the Lord.
We read Psalm 122 as our devotional with Brother Brad Siler as our Sunday School Superintendent. Prayer requests were shared for Peggy Miller, Paul Duckworth, Jim Evans, Pat Dobbs, a little one, Jenin’s aunt Crystal, hurting and the lost people around us.
Happy birthday was sung to Shannon Wilson.
Aaron Humbyrd prayed the offertory prayer as he and Clay McFarlin received our Lord’s tithes and offerings.
Danny Johnson led us in songs with LeaAnn Crum at the piano. We sang.
Paul and Tyla Duckworth gave a testimony and read scriptures. Pastor Neal read John 3:16 and shared. “Know the One who holds tomorrow; he holds the future and we can have peace—His peace”. He also read James 5. We then had special prayer for Paul, who is having tests this week. A sweet loving spirit was with us. Good testimonies were shared.
We then went to Plainview School for Kid’s Day. We had pizza and great fellowship. The kids enjoyed the bounce house. We thank God for our precious little ones—Jesus loves the little children and said, “Such is the Kingdom of Heaven”.
At 6 p.m. we came together again with prayer by Pastor Neal, singing and testimonies.
Special music was done by Van Menzies, Stan and Jeff Humbyrd and Sonya Hodges. Many years have gone by since they had done music together. LeaAnn and Erin Crum sang.
Pastor Neal read from Luke 14:34-35 and Leviticus 2. Salt is good but if it has lost its savor, it is no longer salty and is good for nothing. The same is true with us. If we lose our Christian influence, we are good for nothing. So let us strive to be always Christ-like.
Every Tuesday at 7 p.m. is prayer meeting; every Wednesday at 7 p.m. is Bible study in the book of Exodus. Come and be with us. You are always welcome.
