As a born again believer I have to say that Easter is a holiday that deserves my attention. After all this day is what the basis of all my hope and faith in God the Father and His Son Jesus is stored in, all things became truth that Christ said because after three days. He rose again and as I continue to follow after Him I have comfort in knowing that I will too.
Our week at New Hope started Wednesday evening with Bro. Ludwig leading our Bible study over Exodus 19. We had 7 attend study and we had a visitor that we want to welcome back. Friday and Saturday consisted of lots of work being done on the church. For the most part the remodel is finished. We have some minor details to work on, but praise God that He seen it fit to finish before Easter. Easter morning services we started out with prayer requests and of course praises and glory to God for what His son endured for us. The adults continued their study over Acts and the children, Matthew 28, the Resurrection. They also did an Easter craft – the empty tomb and sang a song for the congregation and did a Bible memory verse, Matthew 28:6. During morning worship we had 37 attend. Pastor Talbert brought forth our morning message from several scriptures – Luke 24:1-2, 23:55-56, 23:49, John 19:34, Mark 15:39 and 16:1-8, I Corinthians 5:7 – Jesus Our Passover. When God looks down and sees us covered in the blood of Christ, death passes over us! What a wonderful God we serve.
On Easter evening we had 17 attend service. Bro. Larry and Sis. Virginia sang a special for us. Pastor Talbert started a series over Revelation that we are all excited about getting into. This evenings scriptures were II Timothy 3:1-7 and Revelation 1:1-6. We want to express our gratitude to all of our visitors and urge all to come and visit us for our services, we are located at 205 NE 14th Ave. and would be honored by your presence in the house of God.
