A beautiful Easter day in the Ozarks. Garrison Baptist Church had a very nice sunrise service on the hill. A large crowd attended and Melany Stevens sang a special and Lisa Ellison sang and played her keyboard. The congegation sang the first verse and the ladies sang their specials and I read Calvary it’s Jesus Obituary. Pastor James Orick was the speaker. Altar call was given. A big breakfast of eggs, gravy and biscuits, sausage links, bacon, orange juice, pop, coffee, chocolate milk was served and pancakes and syrup.
Children had a good egg hunt and everybody looked nice. The babies sure had pretty dresses on. Several new ones at Garrison and they are so cute. There was around 80 in attendance.
Bo Morrison attended sunrise service at Mt. Olive with his dad, George. A large number attended and lots of good food served.
Sunday as we came home around 10 a.m. we attended services at Mt. Olive. Lisa Ellison invited us. She sang a special there also. They had some more specials and Pastor Keith Lafferty brought the message.
Jerry Nelson had several at his home on Easter day. He said a large crowd attended services at Eastern Gate Sunday.
Sympathy sent to the Thetis Pruiett family, he passed away.
Ervin and Sandra Maggard of Ozark enjoyed their children and grandchildren and Sandra’s family on Easter Sunday. Ervin’s mother, Iona, did not go this year. She attended all services at her church and rested that evening.
Ralph and Melissa Hutchinson was planning on their children and grandchildren for Easter. They were planning a weiner roast in the backyard that evening. She invited us, but we didn’t sleep very good the night before so we rested.
Easter Sunday visitors of Gracie Williams were her children and grandchildren – Mike and Joyce Williams, Joyce’s daughter – Jamie and family, David Williams and daughter, Brianna of Ava, Jessie and Cody McCleary of Mountain Grove, Cindy Blakemore and Ashley, Cheryl Williams, her son-n-law, Dennis Humprey and son, Brad and Brad’s son, Tyler and Dennis’ grandson, Dalton Eckroat.
Gracie enjoyed calls from her friend, Jane Pruett and sister-in-law, Alice Nelson. Gracie visited Saturday at the grocery story with Fae Pruett.
James and me visited Iona Maggard. Iona and Janie Morrison attended a yard sale together.
George Morrison visited his cousin, Junior and Betty Halcomb Sunday night after church. I visited them Monday and visited at Sybil Harvill’s.
We visited Jenny Downs at Subway, in Sparta Monday. They attended church at Eastern Gate. Dennis and boys went fishing also and grandson, Emory, caught his first fish. Way to go Emory!
Gary McMurry visited last week. He was bulldozing and it rained him out.
Monday evening we enjoyed fishing with Wayne Anderson and visiting with his wife, Joann.
John and Connie Siler enjoyed Easter with John’s family.
