The Southwest Missouri Office on Aging is presenting a Health Wellness and Safety Expo in the E-plex at the Springfield Fairgrounds on April 14, 2012 from 9:00 to 4:00. Admission is free and the OATS bus will give free rides (only 6 spots left) from Ava.
Over 100 vendor booths, free give-aways, free health screenings, free diabetes screenings, door prizes, Wii bowling, on-site food concessions and free use of mobility devices are just some of the things to browse. There will be a talent contest with prizes, cooking demonstrations, mobility scooter demo course, hands-on crafts and activities, live entertainment all day, and baggo and washers tournament.
There is also free hearing tests and on-site hearing aid repairs ($50.00), free vision screening for macular degeneration and glaucoma, free on-site foot clinic including nail trim, file and shape and massage (call 868-9523 for an appointment), free confidential mental health counseling sessions (call 761-5725 to schedule an appointment) and other wellness checks including blood pressure, bone density, weight and body mass index.
