Ava Place had a flawless transition to our new owners. We are now affiliated with Heart of The Ozarks, Debra Dade, RN, our new administrator is a breath of fresh air and a ray of sunshine to the Ava Place Family. Debra worked for Heart of the Ozarks as the Assistant Director of Nursing and Staff development coordinator. She has experience as a Level 1 Trauma nurse, Emergency and Critical Care Nurse. Debra is also a Certified American Heart Association Basic Life Support Instructor. Debra has been involved with long term care for many years.
We had a fun filled month of visitors, activities and celebrations . Some of our visitors have included the Bears Den, they came to visit and play indoor horseshoes. We have had fun playing Bingo with wonderful volunteers from Hospice Compassus and Three Rivers Hospice . Everyone enjoyed the “Country Van Ride” to Glade Top Trail, the old stomping ground of our very own Noreen Pellham. It was wonderful to see and hear about this breath taking area. On Wednesday’s, the musical group “Traveling Strings” plays and sings wonderful Folk and Gospel music. We were delighted and uplifted through their music. We appreciate their time and talent they shared with us. On Thursday our Cooking Club made fabulous sugar cookies for our St Patty’s party. Friday, we all enjoyed the festive affair, with a supper of corned beef, cabbage and potatoes, topped off with shamrock salad. We discovered the history behind St. Patrick’s Day, enjoyed word games and had Irish blessings of wisdom and love bestowed upon us all.
